Keywords: Competitive State Water Resources Research Program FY2004

Description:

The Georgia Water Resources Institute (GWRI) invites proposals for the State Water Resources Research Program for FY 2004 (funded through the Department of the Interior), with a tentative starting date of March 1, 2004.  All faculty members or affiliates at institutions of higher learning in the State of Georgia are eligible and are invited to participate.

The deadline for receiving an original and eight (8) copies of each proposal in the Institute office is noon, January 2, 2004.  Proposals should follow the attached proposal preparation instructions and should address one or more of the State’s research needs.  Following submission, the proposals will undergo peer reviews (according to the attached evaluation criteria) and will be ranked by the GWRI Advisory Board on the basis of their technical reviews and research relevance for the State of Georgia.  GWRI expects to fund four research projects at the annual budget level of $18,000 each. All Principal Investigators will be notified of the selection process results by early February 2004.  Two-year projects may also be submitted, but second-year funding will depend upon the successful completion of all first-year tasks and will have to be re-approved under the competitive selection process for FY 2005.  This program carries a mandatory 2:1 matching requirement (two non-federal dollars for every federal dollar spent) and does not carry overhead.

Please share the materials with others who may be interested in having a research project considered for funding.
