Job description The individual will perform assignments under the supervision of junior to senior level project managers in the practice area of water resources engineering. The individual will also be required to perform tasks in other company practice areas as needed. Tasks will be designed to develop knowledge, skills and abilities in these technical disciplines and the business of professional consulting services. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to civil design and site layout; hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of small and large watersheds; floodplain modeling; design of constructed wetlands, sedimentation basins, stormwater BMPs, and related hydraulic structures; water quality modeling; erosion and sediment control design and field implementation; field investigations and construction support services; map-making and GIS, database management, report/drawing/proposal preparation; and project management.
Job requirements BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering with exposure to all major civil engineering and water resources disciplines through coursework. Advanced degrees in Civil or Environmental Engineering (MS/PhD) with emphasis in water resources or a closely related discipline is preferred. Possess 0-4 years of related engineering experience. Ability to obtain PE (professional engineer) registration in the United States within five years of employment is required. Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), and sound engineering/scientific problem-solving abilities. Demonstrate commitment to technical excellence and quality of work product. Experience with modeling/design tools such as EPA-SWMM, TR-55, HEC-HMS, and HEC-RAS, ARCGIS, and AUTOCAD preferred. Ability and willingness to perform field work and travel is required.
